You know, I must say the article “Oh, White Women” in itself is a board subject. As a woman of color I don’t want to come off insensitive to the plight of white females; however, I don’t feel like individuals considered to be highly intelligent yet ditsy, attractive, superior mother figures in society is all that horrible of a concept. I understand the big picture is that deep down white women want to be themselves, embraced, shown to white men that they are fragile and hurt deep down inside. I personally think they show that to the world. Afro-American women are taught they should be more like white women that we are mean yet if we come off passive; we have an inferiority complex. How about in society, all women learn to accept that everyone has different contributions to the world? We are all in this glass bubble floating around the earth trying to find ourselves. Being a woman of many shades is hard because you can be perfect and still a misfit, you can be lacking in judgement and never know who you are deep inside because we live in a “Man’s World!” that says that being thin, submissive and a certain “Womanly” appearance counts and most of the time it is whiteness. It is depressing all away around for not just white women but women in general. However; I get the irony.
