It’s hard being teased and the fact you were taunted for being black is even worse. Black on Black racism is prevalent and it has taken place too often. I can remember being teased by Afro American students growing up. Although I had a diverse group of friends in my later adolescence to adult life, fitting in with folks of all races was a challenge. Dating within your own race for a black woman, you face racism because if you date in your race they may or may not want to date you as a black woman, or your selection of black men are not ideal meaning you have to date a person who is thuggish, frequently been in and out of prison or have money but so miserable to be around, it would be better to be alone. Dating outside your race is an option but you find that you have to belittle your own to be successful, you end dating a racist, and the list goes on. I can’t say my dating life has been terrible altogether but as I age I learn to watch out for men who make me feel less than.
